(Kuala Belait, 9th) Members of the Kuala Belait Lions Club recently went to the countryside to provide eye examinations for the students of NAWEI Chinese School. This activity is part of the annual community service for the "Vision Program," and aims to coincide with World Sight Day.
World Sight Day is held on the second Thursday of October each year and seeks to promote and raise awareness about the importance of eye care for maintaining good vision.
Kuala Belait Lions Club First Vice President Jason Chong led the team and also served as the project chair this year. Joseph Teo, the Regional Coordinator of the Global Service Team, as well as other Kuala Belait Lions Club members, accompanied the visit. A total of 16 students from Grades 1 to 6 participated in the Lions Club eye examination, and 7 students were found to require prescription glasses.
The screening team stated that they will return to the school later to deliver the glasses to the students.
