Member of the CCP Politburo Standing Committee and Chinese Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang said during a meeting with Russian Deputy Prime Minister Novak that China is willing to work with Russia to push energy cooperation to a higher level and make a greater contribution to ensuring global energy security.
According to the website of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ding Xuexiang and Novak jointly chaired the 22nd meeting of the China-Russia Energy Cooperation Committee in Beijing on Friday (September 26).
Ding Xuexiang stated that energy cooperation is a model of equal, mutually beneficial, and practical cooperation between China and Russia. China is willing to work together with Russia to promote energy cooperation to a higher level and make greater contributions to guaranteeing energy security and sustainable development for both countries and the world.
Ding Xuexiang put forward three suggestions on deepening practical cooperation in all areas of energy between China and Russia. First, deepen the integration of interests, steadily advance the construction and operation of key projects, and consolidate the important achievements of energy cooperation.
Second, uphold complementarity of advantages, further tap cooperation potential in areas such as renewable energy, hydrogen energy, and energy storage, and promote the transformation and development of the energy sector.
During the meeting, both sides reviewed cooperation in the fields of oil, natural gas, coal, electricity, renewable energy, and nuclear energy, had in-depth exchanges of views on the next steps of cooperation, and reached broad consensus.
