Online Gambling Center Dismantled, Immigration Arrests 11 Chinese Nationals

(Kuala Lumpur, 12th) In a special raid operation, the Immigration Department successfully busted an online gambling center and arrested 11 Chinese nationals.
Immigration Department Director-General Datuk Zakaria stated that after two weeks of intelligence gathering, the raid was conducted at 3:50 PM on October 9th.
"Enforcement officers targeted a residential unit around Jalan Binjai, Kuala Lumpur, and successfully apprehended 10 men and 1 woman (all Chinese citizens), aged between 20 and 40."
He revealed in a statement that preliminary investigations showed that two of the men held social visit passes (PLS), five men had overstayed, and another three men and one woman did not possess any valid travel documents or visas.
"At the scene, the enforcement team seized 7 Chinese passports, 11 laptops, 7 mobile phones, 3 computers, and 3,900 ringgit in cash."

The statement disclosed that the syndicate's modus operandi was to convert luxury residences into online gambling centers operated by Chinese nationals, mainly targeting overseas markets. They promoted and communicated via Telegram and WhatsApp applications.
Two Chinese men are suspected of violating Section 39(b) of the Immigration Regulations 1963; five Chinese men are suspected of violating Section 15(4) of the Immigration Act 1959/63; and another three men and one woman are suspected of violating Section 6(3) of the Immigration Act 1959/63.
The statement emphasized that the Immigration Department will continue to enforce the law strictly and is committed to combating any activities that violate national laws to ensure that national security and sovereignty are protected.
