Google Purchases AI Computing Power from SpaceX, Paying Over $900 Million Monthly

According to its initial public offering filing, Space Exploration Technologies Corp. (SpaceX), founded by Elon Musk, signed a large-scale cloud computing agreement with Google on the 5th. The agreement states that Google will pay $920 million (approximately 3.705 billion ringgit) per month to obtain vast computational power from a large-scale artificial intelligence chip cluster.

The agreement covers computing infrastructure made up of approximately 110,000 Nvidia (Nvidia) graphics processing units (GPUs). These GPUs are crucial hardware components supporting the operation of Google's Gemini artificial intelligence model.

The documents indicate that Google will begin paying the full monthly fee starting in October 2026. During the initial build-out and expansion period before this, a lower rate applies. The agreement will last until June 2029, meaning Google will pay around $30 billion over the contract period.

This deal is similar to SpaceX's previous partnership with Anthropic. Anthropic rents computing resources at SpaceX's Colossus data center in Memphis, Tennessee, United States, at a price of $1.25 billion per month.

Both of these major contracts with Google and Anthropic were finalized just days before SpaceX's IPO.
