Anwar: Foreign Forces and Local Businessmen Joined Hands, 6 Meetings Plotted from August 2024

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar revealed that, according to preliminary investigations, foreign forces and local businessmen have joined forces to carry out a project spanning from August 2024 to the next general election, having already held six meetings in 2025 both locally and abroad. They obtained information and used international roundtables as well as international NGOs to report to Bloomberg for further action.

“Their strategy is to contact all foreign media via foreign forces to question the government’s strategies, especially the MACC, then use foreign powers to publish narratives that question our government, and subsequently utilize parliamentary mechanisms as a form of threat.

He said that the police have already opened an investigation into the matter. The related PR company will make every effort to employ media editors and reporters to question government measures or policies, formulate and influence the issues raised in Parliament, and then use their connections to write letters to bankers in order to influence them.

“This matter is still under investigation. I am not willing to name names or places, but my remarks are based on police investigations. According to investigation records, the company and businessmen involved have met six times both domestically and abroad in 2025, obtained information, and through international roundtables and NGOs, reported to Bloomberg for further action.”

He said that, according to records obtained by the government, the large-scale anti-corruption operation by the MACC led them to use both domestic and foreign forces.

“There are also those who question the Prime Minister—no problem, this is politics. They seek strategies using international media to praise certain businessmen under investigation, including those investigated for corruption.”

The Prime Minister made these remarks today during the Dewan Rakyat Prime Minister’s Question Time, in response to Arau MP Datuk Seri Shahidan’s question.
