(Bandar Seri Begawan, 19th) In order to raise public awareness of human trafficking crimes and strengthen Brunei Darussalam's efforts to combat human trafficking, the Human Trafficking Investigation Unit of the Royal Brunei Police Force's Criminal Investigation Department recently held a human trafficking crime roadshow seminar at the Bangladesh High Commission on Jalan Kebangsaan Berakas.

The seminar was chaired by the Head of the Human Trafficking Investigation Unit, Deputy Superintendent Hajah Anis. Attendees included Brunei-based Bangladesh High Commissioner Dato Nahurine as well as senior staff members of the High Commission.

The main purpose of the seminar was to explain to participants how to identify potential victims of human trafficking and to enhance related preventive awareness. Law enforcement units and frontline agencies, in particular staff of the High Commission, are urged to remain vigilant and take proactive actions to help identify Bangladeshi workers in Brunei, especially those who might be trapped and exploited as victims of human trafficking.

The Royal Brunei Police Force emphasized that cooperation from all parties is crucial, and that all sectors of society should work together and play their part in assisting the police to respond to and combat human trafficking crimes.
