Chinese actor Yang Yang is reportedly set to return to modern romance dramas! After starring in "Fireworks of My Heart" in 2023, he has mostly taken on historical drama roles in recent years. Now, after a gap of three years, he is rumored to take the lead in the major new drama "Waiting for the Wind to Kiss You," with top Taiwanese directors Qu You-Ning and Li Qing-Rong reportedly at the helm and filming expected to begin in October.
"Waiting for the Wind to Kiss You" is adapted from the popular novel of the same name by author Qingqing's Cat on Jinjiang Literature City, which enjoys high popularity and a vast readership. The story follows the male and female leads, Fu Xueli and Xu Xingchun, who fell madly in love in high school but regretfully broke up at a time when they felt powerless. Six years after, they reunite: the female lead has become a bright and dazzling top actress, while the male lead has transformed into a cold and restrained forensic doctor. The two find themselves drawn back together amid a push-and-pull between desire and fate.
The drama has seen various rumored casting lists, but the latest suggests that Yang Yang will star, with Chen Duling as the female lead. The two previously worked together in the 2015 film "The Left Ear" directed by Alec Su. Adding to speculation, the show's producer was recently spotted liking related posts about the two stars, sparking heated discussions online.
