Xianfeng County in Enshi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, Hubei Province, China, was hit by an extreme rainstorm, flooding many shops and sweeping away multiple cars in the floodwaters.
According to comprehensive reports from CNR, Jimu News, and Hubei Daily, from the evening of June 30 to July 1, Xianfeng County experienced heavy rainfall, with a cumulative rainfall of 358.8 millimeters.
The heavy rain caused flood disasters and dangerous situations in some urban and rural areas, with water depths exceeding 2.5 meters in certain regions.
Videos circulating online show that many shops were flooded and several cars were swept away by the floodwaters.
The local flood control and drought relief headquarters dispatched 125 fire and rescue personnel, deployed 22 fire trucks, 11 boats, and brought along rescue ropes, life jackets, and other flood control and rescue equipment, rushing to Gaoleshan Town, Qujiang Town, and other areas for rescue. A total of more than 18,000 affected residents have been relocated and resettled.
At present, the floodwaters have gradually receded, and various rescue and relief efforts are still ongoing locally.
