Qatar's Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ansari said on the 21st that Qatar is maintaining communication with all parties to promote the restoration of normal passage through the Strait of Hormuz and to maintain the stability of global supply chains.

He stated at a routine press conference that if the Strait of Hormuz remains closed, the crisis will evolve from a regional issue into an international one. Solving the crisis in the Strait of Hormuz is not the responsibility of a single country, but a common task that requires broad international coordination.

He said that Qatar supports Pakistan in playing a mediating role. Pakistan maintains good relations with all relevant parties, which will help bridge differences and promote the negotiation process.

Due to the United States' continued maritime blockade of Iranian ports, after Iran announced on the 17th that it would allow all commercial vessels to pass, it announced the closure of the Strait of Hormuz again on the 18th, less than a day later.
