(Bandar Seri Begawan, 30th) In response to World Book Day and to promote a culture of reading and the spirit of Chinese culture, the "Ink Fragrance, Book Splendor Day" cultural event organized by the Brunei Chinese Literary and Arts Association will be held on May 1, 2026 (Friday), from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, at the second floor hall (next to the restaurant) of Higher Hotel.
This event, themed "Books Nourish the Soul, Ink Transmits Heritage; Reading Illuminates Wisdom, Culture Enriches Life," aims to promote a book-loving society and encourage cultural heritage and personal growth through reading sharing and literary exchanges.
The program will officially begin at 2:00 PM. At 2:15 PM, host Ms. Pan Weifang will commence the event and introduce the significance of World Book Day and the objectives of the activity. Subsequently, Ms. Chen Lizhen, President of the Brunei Chinese Literary and Arts Association, will deliver a welcome speech, expressing greetings to the guests and hopes for a vibrant reading culture.
In the cultural sharing segment, Mr. Shen Renyang will present a Tang poetry appreciation, and Teacher Liang Youqing will perform poetry recitation, showcasing the beauty of Chinese literature. Following this, Mr. Zhan Xingmin, Mr. Zhang Wenfa, and Mr. Zhu Yunli will each share their reading experiences, succinctly conveying the insights and inspiration gained from reading.
As part of the arts program, Ms. Lin Meiyu will give a vocal performance, adding an artistic touch and cultural flavor to the event. Afterwards, there will be a tea break, giving attendees the opportunity to interact and communicate in a relaxed atmosphere, furthering friendships built through a shared love of books.
