(Osaka, 13th) The “futuristic human bath machine”, showcased at the Osaka Healthcare Pavilion of the 2025 Osaka-Kansai Expo and receiving rave reviews, has announced mass production!
The developer, Japanese company Science Co., Ltd., revealed that it has already received 6 orders, and hotels will be introducing it.
Science Co., Ltd. is renowned for its Fine Bubble technology, and the bath machine utilizes bubble technology, claiming no need for detergents. With the increasing demand for healthcare in an aging society, the company hopes to help people achieve “bathing freedom”.
The concept of a bath machine dates back to the 1970 Osaka Expo, exhibited by Sanyo Electric (now Panasonic), and was a hot topic at the time. Imagine immersing your body in a capsule about 2 meters in diameter with your head sticking out, while internal nozzles spray hot water, using ultrasonic bubbles to clean the body, and finally, the machine automatically blows warm air to dry you off.
55 years later, with Osaka once again hosting the Expo, Science Co., Ltd. invested 100 million yen (approx. RM2.79 million) to recreate the concept and produce the “futuristic human bath machine”. Originally made just for the exhibition without any commercial sales plan, the day after opening, a U.S. buyer expressed intent to purchase, and subsequent inquiries and requests to introduce the product from all over the world quickly followed. During the exhibition, experience reservations were extremely popular, with some people wanting to try but unable to. Due to the enthusiastic response, Science decided to start mass production, bringing this revolutionary bathing experience beyond the exposition hall.
It is understood that the “futuristic human bath machine” features fully automated bathing, with the whole process taking only about 15 minutes. Through fine bubbles and automatic cleaning technology, it also plays the most suitable music and visuals based on the user's heart rate and autonomic nervous system, providing an immersive therapeutic experience. It reportedly feels like bathing inside a spaceship.
