Melody Chiang Urgently Seeks a California Lawyer While Filming ‘Sisters Who Make Waves 7’

Published at Apr 07, 2026 04:49 pm
Taiwanese actress Melody Chiang is currently participating in the filming of “Ride the Wind 2026” (also known as “Sisters Who Make Waves 7”) in Changsha, Hunan, China. In the early morning of the 7th, she unexpectedly posted an urgent SOS message on Weibo. At around 1 a.m., she anxiously wrote: “I urgently need a California lawyer who can appear in court at 8:30am on 4/7!”—her words brimming with a sense of urgency, along with a screenshot of a U.S. court schedule. She previously appeared in Jay Chou’s music video for “The Longest Movie,” earning her the title of “J-Girl,” and last year announced her divorce from her American pilot husband.

The screenshot mentioned “regarding temporary,” but the latter part was obscured. The public speculates it likely involves a temporary restraining order or another urgent civil action. Since Melody is currently immersed in the intense filming and training schedule for “Sisters Who Make Waves 7,” this sudden legal situation arising in California has clearly caught her off guard.

Melody’s late-night plea instantly drew a huge response from netizens, with many saying, “What happened, sis? Don’t worry, we’ll help repost this and see if anyone can help.” Others suggested, “Sis, maybe try asking the Hong Kong sisters if they know any Hong Kong lawyers; Hong Kong lawyers might know California lawyers.” Some netizens worried it could be related to her divorce proceedings. Melody Chiang’s studio recently responded: “We are currently contacting lawyers, thank you everyone.”#
