As the inheritance battle over China beverage giant Wahaha's founder Zong Qinghou continues to escalate, Ifeng has revealed that Zong Qinghou does not only have Zong Fuli and the three other previously exposed children, but actually has a total of seven children.
According to Hong Kong court documents from last December, three individuals claiming to be Zong Fuli’s paternal half-siblings—Zong Jichang, Zong Jieli, and Zong Jisheng—took Zong Fuli to court over asset disputes.
Ifeng reported on the 17th, citing insiders, that Zong Jichang, Zong Jieli, and Zong Jisheng’s mother is indeed Wahaha founding member Du Jianying, but the online rumor that Zong Jisheng was born in 2017 is inaccurate.
It is understood that the Zong family child born in 2017 was actually from a young female employee. According to insiders, this employee was dissatisfied with the child support Zong Qinghou provided and repeatedly made disturbances in front of Wahaha’s Qingtai Street headquarters. At the time, the company even sent out special emails reminding employees to avoid contact with her.
Insiders said that in 2018, the Zong family compiled a chronicle for Zong Qinghou’s father, Zong Qilu, which clearly states: Other than Zong Fuli, Zong Qinghou has six other children.
● Two more children yet to be made public
This means that apart from Zong Fuli, the three born to Du Jianying, and the child born in 2017 to the female employee, there are still two children of Zong Qinghou who have not yet been revealed.
Another insider said that before Du Jianying, another employee actually gave birth to a daughter for Zong Qinghou. After Du Jianying entered the inner circle of power, this mother and daughter moved to settle in the United States.
In addition, Ifeng's "Storm Eye" discovered that in a 2021 interview with an education media outlet, Du Jianying mentioned that in 2014, her oldest and second children among the three were already attending high school in the United States. This also indirectly proves that Du Jianying already had three children before 2017.
