(Bandar Seri Begawan, 10th) Prince Martin, representing His Majesty the Sultan, visited Tutong District yesterday morning to distribute royal gift funds to certain groups, especially Bruneian Muslims and permanent residents.
Upon arrival at the Tutong Civic Centre Hall, Prince Martin was welcomed by the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Dato Nazmi.
During the ceremony, Prince Martin presented His Majesty the Sultan of Brunei’s personal gift money to 1,000 beneficiaries from the district.
This is the 17th time the presentation has taken place, aimed at helping ease the burdens of specific groups, particularly during the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri.
The recipients expressed sincere gratitude for His Majesty’s ongoing care and concern for the welfare of the people, stating that the gift will help ease the daily living expenses for them and their families.
“I am very grateful for this personal gift from His Majesty the King’s council. Besides helping to alleviate the burdens of those in poverty, His Majesty is a very caring, people-oriented monarch, who, through the Ministry of Community Development, provides various welfare support, living allowances, social relief, and other assistance offered by His Majesty’s government.
The recipients also prayed for His Majesty’s health, wishing him longevity, well-being, and continued prosperity and rule over Brunei under Allah’s protection.
