(Sibu, 23rd) — In the early hours today, a fire broke out at KL Lounge Club, an entertainment venue located on Jalan Maju in Sibu, affecting two ground-floor shop units of a three-story building. Fortunately, there were no casualties.
According to TVS reports, the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Operations Center (PGO) stated that they received an alert at 7:11 AM.
“Ten firefighters from the Sibu Central Fire and Rescue Station, led by PBK I Chuma Jadam, arrived at the scene just two minutes later.”
The statement said the fire affected approximately 40% of the structure of the two shop units, with no injuries reported.
Firefighters quickly deployed a 100-foot hose, using both the fire truck’s pump and a nearby fire hydrant to put out the blaze, successfully bringing the fire under control and fully extinguishing the flames.
The entire operation concluded smoothly at 8:04 AM, ensuring the scene was safe.
Police and personnel from Sarawak Energy also arrived to assist with safety and electricity-related matters.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
