(Singapore, 29th) Lee Cheuk-hing, principal of Hong Kong Tuen Mun San Wui Commercial Society Secondary School, who insulted a female security guard in Singapore, has publicly apologized and urged students to take him as a cautionary example and not imitate his behavior.

According to Hong Kong media reports, Lee Cheuk-hing revealed in a media interview on the 28th that he had submitted his resignation letter to the school board, and would cooperate with any investigation and arrangements by the Hong Kong Education Bureau and the school board. He also announced his resignation from all regional positions.

In an interview with Hong Kong media outlet Dot News, Lee Cheuk-hing said that, as a principal, he should lead by example and, regardless of the situation, maintain calm and self-control.

He said he would engage in deep self-reflection, and also hoped students would not imitate his actions.

"I would like to tell my students: do not follow my example. At all times, try your best to remain calm and resolve (problems) in a rational way; take me as a warning. Do not say things you would regret in the heat of the moment. I sincerely apologize to all Hong Kong citizens and people of Singapore. I will also resign from regional duties. Once again, I say sorry to everyone, I am truly sorry."

Huang Chun-shek, a school board member of Tuen Mun San Wui Commercial Society Secondary School, confirmed that the board had received Lee Cheuk-hing's resignation. However, since the incident involves many aspects, the board still needs to hold a meeting to discuss whether to accept his resignation, with the meeting expected to be held within one or two days.

Earlier Singapore media reports stated that the incident occurred on May 22 at Jurong SAFRA Club. A video showing a man standing at the bus door, arguing with two women in security uniforms, circulated on social media on May 23.

In the video, the two security personnel can be heard asking the bus to "move back", after which the man responds in Cantonese with profanity, makes faces, and provokes the two female security guards to get on the bus. A woman standing behind the man tried to pull him back to calm the situation, but the man shouted at her loudly to "go away".

According to Hong Kong media HK01, at the time of the incident, Lee Cheuk-hing was leading about 35 students and several teachers on an economic and technology study tour in Singapore from May 20 to 24.
