The Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon took place on the 18th, and film legend Chow Yun-fat (Fat Gor), who participates every year, joined the 10k event. Some citizens spotted Fat Gor near the starting point at Eastern Corridor, and true to his usual friendly self, he waved to people.
Last year, Fat Gor mentioned that he would run the half marathon this year and even set himself a goal of 2 hours and 20 minutes, but this year he 'downgraded' and switched back to the 10k race. Around 8 a.m., Fat Gor appeared at the starting area of Eastern Corridor, instantly surrounded by other runners for photos. As he passed by the media interview area, he didn’t forget to wave as well. Wearing bib number T3936, he started in the 7th group. However, unlike regular runners, he and other celebrities, such as Edwin Siu and Priscilla Wong, waited in a designated zone at the side of the track and only set off after most runners had already started.
