Thailand Condemns Cambodia as 'Aggressive' – 9 Thais Dead, 14 Injured in Conflict

On the 24th, Thailand condemned Cambodia as 'inhumane, brutal, and aggressive.'

Thai government spokesperson Chaiyut called on the international community to denounce Cambodia's artillery attacks.

Thailand accused Cambodia of shelling civilian residences and infrastructure during the disputed border clashes.

In addition to launching BM-21 rocket artillery at a community in Surin province, which resulted in 1 dead and 3 injured, Cambodian forces were also accused on the same day of using BM-21 multiple rocket launchers to attack a gas station convenience store in Kantharalak District, Si Sa Ket province, Thailand, causing 6 deaths and 11 injuries, including several students and civilians. In Ubon province, there were also 2 deaths.

Cambodia Seeks Emergency UN Security Council Meeting

Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet, on the 24th, requested the United Nations Security Council to convene an emergency meeting in response to cross-border clashes between Cambodia and Thailand.

In a letter to UN Security Council President Ahmed, he wrote: 'In view of Thailand's recent highly serious acts of aggression, which gravely threaten the peace and stability of the region, I earnestly request the Security Council to convene an emergency meeting to halt Thailand's acts of aggression.'
