On the 23rd, China State Shipbuilding Corporation Limited announced that the first large self-developed dual-fuel RoPax ship for export, built by Guangzhou Shipyard International Company Limited, was successfully delivered in Nansha, Guangzhou on the same day. In the future, it will be operated on the route between Genoa and Palermo in Italy.
The dual-fuel RoPax ship can use both fuel oil and cleaner liquefied natural gas as power sources, and possesses completely independent intellectual property rights. The ship has a total of 12 decks and is equipped with facilities such as a self-service restaurant, café, and lounge. It has 485 guest rooms, can carry 1,800 passengers, and more than 550 vehicles, mainly serving short-distance sea transportation.
A representative from Guangzhou Shipyard International revealed that the ship's interior fittings are 100% domestically produced. Its power system can be fueled with about 1,000 cubic meters of liquefied natural gas, which is expected to enable about 5 days of sailing.
