In the First Two Days of Attacking Iran, the US Has Consumed $22 Billion Worth of Ammunition

A source familiar with the situation revealed on the 10th that the Trump administration, in a report submitted to congressional committees, stated that in the first two days of US and Israeli airstrikes against Iran, $5.6 billion (22.011 billion ringgit) worth of ammunition had already been consumed.

According to foreign media reports, US lawmakers may soon have to approve additional war appropriations. They are concerned that this war will deplete America's military stockpiles, especially since the defense industry is already under significant pressure to meet the Pentagon's demands.

Several congressional aides said they expect the White House to soon submit a request to Congress for additional war funding. Some officials indicated that the additional appropriation could amount to as much as $50 billion (196.53 billion ringgit), but others believe this estimate may be too low.

The US government has yet to provide a public assessment of the cost of the joint US-Israel airstrikes on Iran on February 28. Congressional Democrats have been strongly demanding more information, including public testimony from administration officials on how the Iran war might affect the US military's preparedness to defend the country.

Government officials have already held multiple classified briefings for lawmakers and their aides. On Tuesday, Senate Democratic Leader Schumer called upon administration officials to testify before Congress when the Senate reconvened.

Schumer said: “When it comes to sending our troops into dangerous areas, the American people need to know the reason. Right now, they don't even know what the reason is. This situation must change.”
