Starring “young Spider-Man” Tom Holland, Spider-Man: Brand New Day continues to dominate the box office, taking the North American crown again last weekend (August 14 to 16) with $70 million (approximately RM280 million). The film’s global box office exceeded $2 billion (about RM8.15 billion) in just 19 days, making it the second fastest film in history to reach this milestone—only trailing Avengers: Endgame, which achieved it in 11 days.

Currently, Spider-Man: Brand New Day has accumulated $785 million (around RM3.2 billion) in North America, while international markets brought in $1.23 billion (about RM5 billion), pushing the global cumulative box office to $2.021 billion (about RM8.24 billion). This also makes it the 8th film in history to surpass $2 billion worldwide. At present, the film has officially entered 8th place in the global box office rankings. Given this pace, Spider-Man: Brand New Day is projected to surpass Avatar: The Way of Water, which grossed $2.334 billion (about RM9.52 billion), before the end of this month—breaking into the global top 3 and setting a new post-pandemic record.
