Miri Lin Clan Scholarships Awarded – 116 Clansmen’s Children Benefited

(Miri, 2nd) Sarawak Miri Lin Clan Association chairperson Lin Shuhua stated that the scholarship awards for members’ children with outstanding academic results are an important tradition of the association. Not only is it an encouragement to outstanding students among clan members, but it also reflects the Lin family’s emphasis on education and the spirit of cultural heritage.

She made these remarks during her speech at the “2025 Lin Yong Xue Couple Clan Scholarship Awards Ceremony for Members’ Children” held at the association yesterday.

She noted that the association commemorates the foresight and benevolence of the late clan elder Lin Yong Xue and his wife, and expressed gratitude to their family for continuing these good deeds so that the fund can keep operating, thus inspiring younger generations and promoting a passion for learning.

Lin Shuhua encouraged the students who received awards, saying that today’s recognition is the result of their hard work. She hopes everyone will take this as a starting point, keep striving for excellence, remember their roots, and in the future give back to their families and serve society, living up to the high expectations of all clan members.

In addition, Lin Clan Association Education Director Lin Xian Cai said in his address that he is grateful to Permanent Honorary Advisor Tan Sri Lin Chang He for his long-term sponsorship of the scholarship fund, enabling clan members’ children to be recognized for their efforts and motivating them to continually pursue academic excellence.

This year, the association has awarded 116 children of members with excellent academic results: 21 in the kindergarten group, 49 in the primary school group, 35 in the secondary school group, and 11 in the SPM group.
