The US State Department has ordered 'non-essential' American diplomats and their family members to leave Lebanon.
A US State Department official disclosed to local media that ongoing assessments of the regional security situation indicate that downsizing the US Embassy in Lebanon is a 'prudent measure', with only essential personnel remaining at their posts.
The official pointed out that this is a temporary measure and the embassy continued to operate normally on the 23rd.
According to the Lebanese International Broadcasting Corporation, for security reasons, dozens of staff members from the US Embassy in Lebanon departed via Beirut Airport on the 23rd.

The report, citing related intelligence, said that since mid-February, as US President Trump considered whether to take military action against Iran, more than 85 US tankers and over 170 transport aircraft have flown to the Middle East.
At present, the US has already deployed a carrier strike group in the Middle East. A second carrier strike group has entered the Mediterranean and is expected to arrive near Israel soon. The US military has also deployed more than 10 other types of warships, hundreds of fighter jets, and multiple air defense systems in the Middle East.
