(Taiwan, 28th) According to Taiwan United Daily News, a magnitude 7 earthquake struck Taiwan at around 11 PM on Saturday night, with strong tremors felt in Taipei and high-rise buildings shaking. Yilan County, Taoyuan City, Hsinchu County, Miaoli County, Changhua County, and 17 other counties and cities experienced a maximum intensity of level 4, while Kaohsiung and Pingtung experienced a maximum intensity of level 3.
The China Earthquake Networks Center also issued a report on Saturday night, stating that a magnitude 6.6 earthquake occurred near Taiwan. Strong tremors were also felt in Fuzhou, Quanzhou, and other areas.
