Matthew stated the confiscated controlled items were worth about RM965,092, with non-controlled items valued at RM304,410, bringing the total estimated value to RM1,269,502. The case will be investigated under Section 20(1) of the Control of Supplies Act 1961, for storing controlled goods at an unlicensed location.
He emphasized that KPDN enforcement officers will continue to strengthen supervision and surprise checks, and will take stern action against any individuals or groups involved in illegal transactions of controlled goods.
“We will never compromise on any illegal activities. Once verified, the strictest legal action will be taken.”
KPDN called on the public to actively cooperate and to immediately report any suspicious activities through official channels, to jointly help combat these illegal acts that threaten market order.
