Chinese Communist Party General Secretary Xi Jinping emphasized the need to resolutely crack down on 'Taiwan independence' separatist forces and oppose interference by external forces.
On Wednesday (July 1), Xi Jinping delivered a speech at the conference celebrating the 105th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China. When discussing the Taiwan issue, he stated that resolving the Taiwan issue and achieving China’s complete reunification is the unremitting historical mission of the Chinese Communist Party and the shared aspiration of all Chinese sons and daughters.
Xi Jinping called for thoroughly implementing the Party’s overall strategy for resolving the Taiwan issue in the new era, adhering to the one-China principle and the '1992 Consensus', uniting the broad masses of Taiwan compatriots, deepening cross-strait exchanges, cooperation and integrated development, resolutely striking at 'Taiwan independence' separatist forces, opposing interference by external forces, and steadfastly advancing the great cause of national reunification.
Xi Jinping also said that promoting the long-term prosperity and stability of Hong Kong and Macau is an intrinsic requirement for the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
