Tien Dingfeng, who created Ken Wu from a singer to an Asian creative king, recently featured Wu in his show. Ken Wu shared how he got through the low period of the box office failure of the movie 'For You to Write Poems' and the passing of his mother. He admitted, 'That period was really unbearably painful. I remember at the time crying my heart out in the hospital stairwell. But I later realized that rebirth is not going back to my former self, but living as a more honest version of myself.'
Tien Dingfeng narrated, 'During that period, it was as if Ken was being crushed by a boulder, even his smiles were faint. However, in the years since he emerged from that phase, every time I see him perform at concerts or music festivals, there’s a different feeling from before. He isn’t just performing; he’s truly living in his creations—that’s a form of deep integration.' Ken Wu said, 'After experiencing a true rebirth, I now treat every performance as an enjoyment of music rather than just work.'
Tien Dingfeng also gave Ken Wu an antique scarab. 'Last month while traveling in Egypt, I found it in an old market next to the pyramids. Locals said the scarab symbolizes rebirth and holds protective powers, like seeing the presence of the sun in the darkness. At that moment, I thought of Ken.'
Ken Wu was momentarily teary-eyed: 'Boss, you know I haven't kept any of my cars, the only one I've held onto is that old Camaro you gave me, and now this scarab carries such significance.'
