(Kuching, 14th) The Batu Lintang Assemblyman, Abdullah Yatogh, has suggested the implementation of the Martin Oil and Gas Landfall Project.

He mentioned that this follows Petronas's announcement in 2021 about the discovery of new oil and gas at the 'wildcat' Sirung-1 exploration well in the shallow-water production-sharing contract block SK405B.

He stated that the Martin Industrial Area is the most strategically significant location for this project's establishment.

“The landfall of such oil and gas products will create many new job opportunities for the people of Mukah and industry players.”

Abdullah Yatogh suggested during the debate on the 19th Sarawak Legislative Assembly's 2024 Supplies (2025) Bill to implement road construction from Bukit Road to Sungai Bayan and the Balingian RGC in other matters.

He stated that the road construction project would benefit 3,500 residents, including 38 longhouses within the Batu Lintang area, reducing travel time for residents.

This will make it easier for residents in the Kakus area, like Bukit and Ulu Arip, to reach the Batu Lintang District Office or government agencies for processing their affairs.
