In the intense competition, they stood out, bringing pride to Brunei, and achieved encouraging results.
This year's event gathered excellent young singers from various AIA member regions. The competition aims to promote healthy cultural and recreational activities, facilitate exchanges and observations between young singers from friendly nations, and further raise the standard of Mandarin vocal art. Contestants all underwent evaluation by an experienced panel of judges, and the overall standard of the competition was high, with intense rivalry.
In the Children’s Category, Bruneian contestant Peng Yuxuan clinched the championship with steady stage presence, pure vocal timbre, and excellent song interpretation, performing "Pear Blossom Again." Fellow contestant Liu Jiayu also delivered a brilliant performance and won the Elite Award, showcasing solid singing skills and stage potential.
In the Youth Category, Brunei’s contestants continued to shine. Xu Yanhao impressed with high-level singing technique in "Unparalleled Under Heaven," earning second place. Su Yunxi won the Excellence Award with a natural and steady performance. Team leader Cai Xinzhe expressed that the exceptional results by Bruneian contestants in this event represent the best results since Starry Star Vocal Troupe began participating in AIA competitions, which is a great encouragement and they hope for ongoing improvement. These results not only showcase the efforts and achievements of local youth in Mandarin singing, but also highlight the importance of music education and stage experience. It is hoped that more young singers will gain experience and confidence through such platforms in the future, continually growing along their musical journey.
