Pop diva A-Mei (Zhang Huimei) has recently held concerts at Taipei Dome and Beijing Bird's Nest, but no matter how busy she is, her family is always on her mind. On the 10th, reports surfaced claiming she would halt work indefinitely in order to spend time with her aging mother. However, A-Mei's manager, Chen Zhenchuan, denied the rumor on her behalf, stating, "There are still some plans in progress."
According to Mirror Weekly, A-Mei had already expressed a strong desire to take a break when her tour ended. This week, after she and her label artists Chih Hsiu and Gaxiwa wrap up their performance at Singapore Music Festival on the 13th, she plans to go into indefinite seclusion, returning to her hometown in Taitung to properly accompany her 88-year-old mother, who has successfully fought cancer. Regarding the reports of an indefinite work stoppage, Chen Zhenchuan said that A-Mei has always had a spontaneous approach to work—she works when she feels like it and enjoys a quiet life when she doesn’t. There are some plans in motion for this year, but they cannot be revealed yet.#
