Brunei Hokkien Association 10th Council Second (2024) Member Assembly

(Bandar Seri Begawan, 12th Jan) The Brunei Hokkien Association held the 10th Council's second (2024) member assembly at the association today.

Vice Chairman Datin Zheng Lizhu presented the 2024 annual report at the member assembly, stating that the association has been busy with affairs and has grown in reputation, thanks to the enthusiastic support of council colleagues, advisors, members, and community dignitaries. She extended heartfelt gratitude on behalf of all council members to the advisors, council members, members, and community dignitaries who have worked diligently alongside the association over the years.

She firmly believes that with the concerted efforts of all advisors, council members, and members, united, the association will definitely reach new heights.

She reported that as of September 30, 2024, the association had a total of 1,183 members, consisting of 356 permanent members and 827 regular members.

Meanwhile, Datin Zheng Lizhu also reported on rental income and activity status.

Additionally, the Education and Culture Director of the Brunei Hokkien Association, Chen Lizhen, presented the financial report as of September 30, 2024, at the member assembly.

She mentioned that the annual surplus for 2024 was BND 32,072, a decrease of BND 19,968 compared to last year's surplus.

As of September 30, 2024, the association's accumulated assets totaled BND 1,444,769, an increase of BND 28,206 from last year. This amount comprises BND 909,372 in fixed assets and BND 535,397 in current assets of the association.

In 2024, the association will strive to seek ways to increase income and reduce expenditures to maintain financial stability. Additionally, through detailed research and planning, the association aims to gradually achieve the goal of increasing income.

She said the council will continue to provide good oversight and ensure that there are adequate control systems within the council to safeguard the association's assets and other financial matters.

The financial report mentioned above is derived from the report of the financial auditor, and in case of any discrepancy with the audit report, the audit report shall prevail.

Finally, the 2024 financial report was approved without objection during the assembly.

The auditing firm for the association for 2024 is Top Business Management And Consultancy Services, which provides account auditing services for the association. Today, the council sought assembly approval to continue appointing Top Business Management And Consultancy Services as the financial auditor for the association for 2025.
