The Japanese boy band “Arashi” has suspended activities for four and a half years, and on the 6th, they unexpectedly announced they will officially disband. The five members reunited and personally reported to fans via video that they will hold a final tour next year, and after the tour concludes, Arashi will officially become history.
The members stated that in the last year before suspending activities, the scheduled performances could not proceed as planned due to the impact of the pandemic. “In order to directly express our gratitude to the fans who have supported us all along, the five of us decided to reunite as Arashi and aim towards a spring tour next year.”
Sho Sakurai mentioned that although they discussed forming a new company, they ultimately decided to complete the final tour with the staff who have worked with them for over 20 years. “At the same time, we also decided to utilize this tour as an opportunity to formally end our activities as Arashi.” To thank the fans who did not withdraw from the official fan club during the suspension of activities, the final tour will prioritize current members, and new members will be temporarily accepted. Since the disbandment has been confirmed, the official fan club will also end in May 2026.
