Iran's Press TV reported on the 5th that Iran has launched a new maritime passage management mechanism to impose unified management on ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz.
According to the report, under the new mechanism, all ships planning to pass through the Strait of Hormuz will receive passage rules and related regulations via an official email. Sources say vessels must adjust their navigation operations accordingly and obtain passage permits before traversing the Strait of Hormuz.
The report pointed out that this new management mechanism is already in effect.
All vessels must use the routes designated by Iran
On the 5th, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy issued a statement saying that ships planning to pass through the Strait of Hormuz must travel along the navigation routes published by Iran. Deviation from these routes will be considered unsafe behavior and will face firm response from the Iranian side.
The statement noted that in the past day, the U.S. military has taken actions that are dangerous and disruptive to regional maritime order and safety, threatening navigational security within the Strait of Hormuz and causing damage to some commercial vessels, oil tankers, and fishing boats. Therefore, the IRGC Navy issued the above warnings to passing vessels.
