A group of foreign tourists put on a 'butt-exposing show' for drivers of vehicles behind them while riding a tuk-tuk in Patong, Phuket, drawing heated criticism from Thai netizens.

On Monday (27th), the Facebook page “Phuket Times” posted photos showing several foreigners standing inside the vehicle, turning to face the traffic behind and pulling down their pants to expose their buttocks.

The post also stated: “A 'butt-exposing show' took place in Patong. Foreign tourists took turns pulling down their pants and aimed their buttocks at the drivers behind the tuk-tuk.”

However, the post did not specify the nationality of the foreign tourists involved, nor was the original source of the photos indicated.

This post has caused heated discussion and criticism among Thai netizens online. Many called for police intervention and investigation.

According to Section 388 of Thailand's Penal Code, public indecent acts including exposing one’s body can be punished by a fine of up to 5,000 baht.

Similar inappropriate incidents involving tuk-tuks have occurred previously in Phuket. Earlier this February, a widely circulated video online showed a French couple engaging in sexual activity while riding; both were deported, blacklisted, and fined for their indecent behavior.

In June last year, a tuk-tuk driver exposed a video of another foreign couple, stating they had ignored his warnings about their behavior. The video showed these foreigners engaging in inappropriate actions during the ride, although it remains unclear whether the incident was reported to the police.
