(Miri, 6th) Organized by Pei Min Middle School’s Yisheng Society, “Pei Chung Crosstalk Night 3.0” was lively staged last night at the Lin Mu Zeng & Huang Xiu Ying Grand Auditorium of the school, bringing the audience a delightful series of outstanding and hilarious crosstalk performances, drawing constant applause and laughter.
During her opening speech, Pei Chung principal Bei Meijiao expressed that Crosstalk Night is not just a performance, but also a showcase of the hard-earned achievements of the Yisheng Society students. Jokingly, she reminded the audience, “Before the show begins, please prepare some tissues—perhaps to wipe your tears, or maybe for the saliva from laughing. Those who laugh too hard, remember to hold onto your chins—we, the organizers, won’t be responsible for picking them up!”

She also especially commended the efforts of the teachers and students of Yisheng Society for making this event possible. “Since the start of the school term, I have often seen them still practicing repeatedly after school in the office or in the grand auditorium. Teacher Chen Yiping always carries a large water bottle, leading students as they rehearse their lines and movements again and again.”
She said she is delighted, seeing them mastering 'speaking, learning, teasing, and singing' even more proficiently than math formulas, and coordinating ‘straight man and comic roles’ with greater chemistry than in chemistry experiments.
She pointed out that the foundation of education is to provide a platform for students to express themselves. Yisheng Society is a successful example. This year, the club not only organized the “Sarawak-wide Crosstalk Training Camp” and “Sarawak Secondary School Crosstalk Competition”, but also represented the school in the “National Secondary School Crosstalk Competition”, showcasing their talents on an even bigger stage.
“Every time I see Teacher Chen Yiping coming to me, I always wonder: is it ‘Sarawak-wide’ or ‘nationwide’ this time? But no matter how big the scale of the event, she always leads the students to create something wonderful!”
She called upon the audience on site to cheer on the students on stage with the warmest applause and the loudest laughter, expressing the highest respect for them.
