(Bandar Seri Begawan, 27th) Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam (BIBD) yesterday launched the BIBD Ramadan Eco Market event at the Jubilee Park of the Crown Prince.
The opening ceremony of the BIBD Ramadan Eco Market was officiated by Minister of Home Affairs Dato Awang Aminudin, who is also the chairman of the BIBD board.
This event will be held from February 26 to March 15, 2026.
This year, the market coincides with Brunei's 42nd National Day, with more than 42 local micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) participating and offering a variety of foods, drinks, and products.
Furthermore, the BIBD Connects market also provides a variety of local delicacies, creating a friendly and warm community atmosphere for families and friends to gather and enjoy the breaking fast meal together in the beautiful park environment.
In fact, the market offers people a place to break fast together under the spirit of Ramadan, relive fond memories of sharing food from the past, and create wonderful memories with friends and family in a relaxed and peaceful setting.
In addition, the market actively promotes cashless transactions, which aligns with BIBD's vision for the digital economy, and supports financial inclusion by introducing convenient digital payment tools to both customers and merchants. BIBD encourages the use of digital payments to make transactions between buyers and sellers more convenient and secure.
To support BIBD's sustainability goals, the market is also committed to raising awareness about environmentally friendly practices.
To align with the sustainable development philosophy of this event, people are encouraged to bring reusable "easy" items. At the same time, merchants are encouraged to reduce waste, use sustainable packaging, and offer eco-friendly products, reinforcing BIBD's commitment to responsible business practices.
