Venezuela Earthquake Death Toll Rises to 3,342

On the 6th, Venezuela released the latest numbers of casualties from the earthquake: the death toll has risen to 3,342, with another 16,470 people injured and 17,345 displaced and left homeless by the disaster.

According to the latest news, since the 7.2 and 7.5 magnitude earthquakes on June 24, Venezuela has recorded 995 aftershocks. The hardest-hit region is La Guaira state, which is adjacent to Caracas.

Nearly 200 buildings have completely collapsed, and over 17,000 people are homeless, having to stay in shelters and temporary camps. The government has not yet released the number of missing persons, but the United Nations estimates that as many as 50,000 people may be unaccounted for.
