(Bandar Seri Begawan, 4th) The Brunei rugby team has left our country to participate in the HSBC SVNS Singapore Rugby Tournament, held from April 5th to 6th at the National Stadium in Singapore.
The Brunei team is placed in Group B and will compete against the Singapore team and the Thailand team. Group A consists of Malaysia, the Philippines, and Indonesia.
Brunei's first match will be held at 10:20 am tomorrow against the Thailand team.
As part of a long-term development strategy, the team manager and Brunei rugby secretary-general, Mohammad Aziz emphasized the importance of continuous development and investing in young talents.
“Our participation in the Singapore Sevens Rugby Tournament is not just about playing in this event, but about building a strong rugby pathway for our athletes.”
He noted that we have also been developing our training programs and development teams to ensure our players receive the best preparation.
