(Kuching, 4th) — A 28-year-old man is believed to have drowned after falling overboard while fishing alone in the Batang Oya River in Mukah; his body was found today.
According to the Fire and Rescue Department, the search and rescue operation entered its second day, and the body of Awang Ismail Awang Rosidi was discovered at around 8:50 am.
The report stated: “The body was found by members of the public about 800 meters from the shore and handed over to the police for transfer to Mukah Hospital.”
The search and rescue operation ended at 9:40 am.
The incident occurred on Saturday (January 3rd), when the victim’s wife called the police after learning that her husband, Awang Ismail, was suspected to have fallen from the boat.
