(United States, 2nd) U.S. President Trump on the 1st threatened that if Nigeria does not stop the situation of 'Christians being killed,' the United States will consider sending armed troops into the country.

He wrote on social media 'Truth Social,' saying: 'If the Nigerian government continues to allow Christians to be killed, the United States will immediately stop all aid to Nigeria, and is very likely to enter this now-shamed country, to thoroughly wipe out the terrorists perpetrating these horrific crimes with "loaded guns".'

He stated: 'I have instructed the Department of War to prepare for possible action. If we launch an attack, it will be swift, fierce, and beautiful.'

On October 31, Trump accused Nigeria of failing to curb the persecution of Christians in the country and announced putting it on the 'Countries of Particular Concern' list. Nigerian President Tinubu, on the 1st, responded to this.

He issued a statement on social media, stating that describing Nigeria as a country lacking religious tolerance does not reflect the actual situation in Nigeria.

He said: 'Religious freedom and tolerance have always been core principles of our collective identity and will always remain so. Nigeria opposes religious persecution and does not encourage such behavior. The Nigerian constitution guarantees the rights of citizens to any faith.'
