Miri Volleyball Team Clinches Third Place; Five Players Selected for Sarawak State Team

(Miri, 25th) The Miri boys’ and girls’ volleyball teams have secured third place in the 2025 Sarawak U14 Volleyball Competition. The event was held at Sibu Indoor Volleyball Stadium from August 14th to 17th.

In addition, three female and two male players were selected for the Sarawak state team and advanced to the national stage. They represented Sarawak to participate in the “Milo Cup National U14 Volleyball Competition” held in Johor from September 10th to 14th, helping the team clinch the runner-up position.

The five outstanding volleyball athletes are female players Deng En'en, Angelina, Guo Peixuan and male players Zhang Yanbin and Aili Xi.

Recently, after a courtesy visit to the president Lin Si Jian, the president of Miri Volleyball Association handed over the third-place trophy to him, in appreciation for his sponsorship and support for the team’s participation.

Lin Si Jian is also the director of the Malaysian Sports Council and a certified safety sports commissioner.

Upon receiving the trophy, he expressed his delight to see Miri’s volleyball standard maintained and looks forward to the upcoming Sarawak U16 competition, hoping the Miri boys’ and girls’ teams will shine again and bring pride to Miri!

He urged all parties to continue to strongly support the development of volleyball in Miri, so that young people can not only excel academically but also achieve balance in sports, creating a more well-rounded life and vibrant society.
