Tiananmen Square, located in the capital of China, Beijing, will be closed for four days next week.
According to the Beijing Daily client, the Tiananmen Area Management Committee issued a notice on the 13th, stating that according to construction arrangements in Tiananmen Square and surrounding areas, and to ensure the safety of tourists and construction, Tiananmen Square will be closed from the 20th to the 23rd. On the 24th, some areas will be partially reopened based on actual conditions.
The Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau's Traffic Management Bureau also issued an announcement on Wednesday, stating that to ensure the safety and smooth running of special events, from the 15th to the 17th, the Tiananmen area and related roads will implement temporary segmented and scheduled traffic control.
The Chinese government will hold a large military parade on September 3 at Tiananmen Square to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. The first comprehensive rehearsal for the "September 3rd Parade" ended in the early morning of the 10th, with about 22,000 people participating in the rehearsal and on-site security work.
