Chinese startup Unitree Robotics released its latest robotic dog product, which can easily carry an adult man "over mountains and across valleys," and is also capable of performing a series of high-difficulty actions such as backflips and high jumps.
According to reports from Global Times, Securities Times, and South China Morning Post, Unitree Robotics, headquartered in Hangzhou, released a demonstration video of its latest robotic dog product B2-W on December 23rd last year, attracting worldwide attention from tech enthusiasts.
In the video, the B2-W robotic dog not only rotates and jumps using quadrupedal, bipedal, and unipedal movements but can also smoothly perform side flips to overcome obstacles. It navigates freely through rugged forests and can leap down from a height of 2.8 meters without any damage, showcasing extreme stability.
Moreover, this robotic dog can charge down from steep, stone-filled slopes, crawl and cross through low-water areas, and carry an adult man while walking.
The video attracted widespread attention, with American billionaire Elon Musk also sharing the video, commenting that "the future of warfare is the war of drones."
Although some opinions suggest that this robotic dog will be used for military purposes, a spokeswoman from Unitree Robotics stated that the B2-W is intended solely for civilian use.
According to official information from Unitree Robotics, the B2-W industrial wheel-legged robotic dog can work continuously for over 5 hours when unloaded, has a maximum moving speed of 20 kilometers per hour, can carry a maximum load of 120 kilograms when upright, and achieves a maximum range of 50 kilometers when carrying a 40-kilogram load.
According to the price listed on the official website, the robotic dog is priced at $150,000 (RM 671,700).
