Turkish President Erdogan arrived in Malaysia today for a two-day official visit.
Erdogan, accompanied by his wife Emine, arrived at the Hibiscus VIP lounge of Kuala Lumpur International Airport at 2:10 PM.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar, along with his wife Datuk Seri Wan Azizah, personally welcomed him.
Also present to receive the Turkish delegation were Defence Minister Datuk Seri Khalid Nordin and Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan.
After inspecting the guard of honor consisting of 28 personnel from the First Battalion of the Royal Rangers Regiment, Erdogan, along with Anwar, proceeded to the Putrajaya International Convention Centre.
During a special graduation ceremony held at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre, Erdogan was awarded an honorary Doctorate in International Relations by the honorary Chancellor of the University of Malaya, Sultan Nazrin Shah of Perak, in recognition of his significant contributions to global diplomacy and international negotiations.
In his speech, Erdogan stated his great honor in receiving this recognition, which he believes will serve as a catalyst in further promoting bilateral relations between Malaysia and Turkey.
“I accept this honorary title as a mark of respect and recognition for myself, my country, and my people.”
