Pickup Suspected of Crossing Lane Causes Fatal Accident - One Dead in Miri Inda 2 Road Crash

(Miri, 4th) Miri Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Lee Bingqiang has issued a statement confirming that a fatal traffic accident occurred last night on Permyjaya Inda 2 Road, where a pickup truck collided with two motorcycles, resulting in one motorcyclist being killed on the spot.

According to the police, the accident happened at about 6:30 pm on April 3, 2026, involving a pickup truck and two motorcycles. Both motorcyclists involved are local men, aged 21 and 32, respectively.

Based on the preliminary investigation, a 45-year-old local man was driving the pickup truck from his workplace at Miri Port Authority back to his home in Desa Puyeh 2, Permyjaya. While passing Inda 2 Road, he is suspected to have entered the opposite lane, colliding head-on with two oncoming motorcycles. One of the motorcyclists was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other motorcyclist and the pickup driver were uninjured.

The police have initiated an investigation under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
