(Kuala Lumpur, 2nd) Puchong MP from the DAP, Yeo Bee Yin, announced that her office would start distributing 1000 MYR cash aid from today to families severely affected by the gas pipeline explosion incident in Kampung Kuala Sungai Baru and Kampung Tanjung, especially those whose houses were completely destroyed.
In a Facebook post, she stated: "For the victims who are still in their hometown, we will arrange subsequent distributions. For other groups of victims, we will distribute cash aid after receiving the latest data."
She mentioned that if there are any urgent needs, residents of the Puchong constituency can contact the Chairman of the Batu Tikar Development and Safety Committee at 01127217445.
She also said that her office has prepared an allocation of 10,000 MYR for emergency purposes to assist residents in her constituency.
Additionally, Selangor's Executive Councilor in charge of Investment, Trade, and Public Transportation, and DAP Kinrara State Assemblyman, Ng Sze Han, announced that Chery Automobile Malaysia would provide 50 cars for one month for the victims to use, addressing their commuting needs for work and school transportation for their children.
After inspecting the disaster area and visiting the victims, he said: "Applications will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis, starting now, at my office and the office of Kota Kemuning State Assemblyman, Bakass."
"Since there are only 50 cars, we will select and allocate them to those in need."
He stated that Chery Malaysia also donated 500,000 MYR and welcomed more automobile companies to cooperate with the state government to alleviate the victims' burdens.
