(Bandar Seri Begawan, 21st) — The Brunei Wushu team recently returned home with honors after concluding their participation at the 22nd Malaysia Games in Selangor, Malaysia, contributing three bronze medals to our national delegation.
Upon arrival at Brunei International Airport, the Wushu team was welcomed by the Director of the Department of Youth and Sports, Umi Karton, together with officers and staff from the department. Umi Karton also draped welcome sashes over the athletes in the airport arrival hall and congratulated them on their outstanding achievements.
The Brunei Wushu team secured a total of three bronze medals at this year’s event. In the women's team competition, Nursyahindah, Nursyahira Mawaddah, and Nursyahirah Mawaddah joined forces to clinch a bronze medal with a score of 9.865.
The other two bronze medals came from the sparring events. Nur Asyifah Sabika won a bronze in the women's B-category (50 to 55 kg) sparring event for Brunei, while Mohammad Martin Adrian added another bronze in the men's G-category (75 to 80 kg) sparring event.
As of now, Brunei’s national delegation has accumulated a total of one silver and six bronze medals in this year's competition.
