On the 27th, Israel launched intense airstrikes on southern Lebanon, resulting in 1 death and 25 injuries.
According to reports from the Lebanese National News Agency, Israeli warplanes carried out more than 20 airstrikes within 15 minutes in multiple locations in Nabatieh, mainly targeting two areas surrounding former Israeli military outposts.
The report said the Israeli military used high-powered concussion missiles, causing violent explosions and covering a wide area. The airstrikes sparked multiple fires and caused a traffic paralysis in Nabatieh and its surrounding areas. Local civil defense departments and municipal agencies were urgently dispatched for firefighting and clearing obstacles, working to restore traffic.
Lebanese President Aoun condemned Israel's continued violation of Lebanon's sovereignty and breach of last November's ceasefire agreement, stating that “Israel constantly disregards regional and international resolutions,” and at the same time called on the “international community to take effective action to stop these attacks.”
Israel Strikes Hezbollah Targets in Southern Lebanon
On the 27th, the Israel Defense Forces issued a statement indicating that earlier in the day, Israeli Air Force jets struck a Hezbollah target in southern Lebanon.
The Israeli military said that the site was used by Hezbollah for commanding its firepower and defense deployments and was part of an important underground facility, which had already been completely decommissioned following previous Israeli attacks. Upon detecting Hezbollah’s attempt to rebuild the facility, the Israeli military once again launched strikes on the target.
The Israeli military stated that the existence of this facility and Hezbollah's efforts to restore its operations are blatant violations of the relevant understandings reached between both sides.
The statement said that the Israeli military will not tolerate any Hezbollah activities at this location and will continue to take action to eliminate any threat to Israel’s national security.
