“God of Songs” Eason Chan not only dominates the music scene with his singing, but also has an impressive eye and financial power when it comes to real estate investments! Recently, Hong Kong’s luxury housing market has become more active, and the 51-year-old music king has made another strong move, splashing out HK$180 million (about RM94.92 million) to purchase a premium single-number villa at SHOUSON PEAK in the Southern District. This heavy investment is widely speculated to be paving the way for his 21-year-old daughter, Chant Chan, and buying her a cozy home, proving he’s a “top-notch dad”!
According to the latest information, Eason Chan bought House 17R at Sun Hung Kai’s SHOUSON PEAK in Southern District for about HK$180 million (around RM94.92 million), registering under his own name. This property has a saleable area of 2,808 square feet, featuring four bedrooms with two en-suites and a storage room, along with a 419-square-foot private garden and a 580-square-foot terrace. The price per saleable square foot is approximately HK$65,000 (about RM34,000), and the buyer will also receive all the villa’s furniture, a true display of superstar flair.
In fact, back in December 2013, Eason had already spent HK$231 million (about RM121 million) to purchase another large single-number villa in the same estate, with a saleable area over 3,238 square feet (at the time, the price per square foot was about HK$71,000 or RM37,000). Over a decade later, he’s “added another property”, spending over HK$410 million (about RM216 million) on these two purchases combined. The two villas are only three houses apart, extremely close by. It is widely rumored that, known as a “devoted dad”, Eason is highly likely to be giving this villa to his daughter Chant as her future home.
