10 university students who participated in the 'People's Anti-Corruption Rally' were summoned by the police today to the Jinma Police District to give statements.

The secretary of the People's Anti-Corruption Secretariat, Zulkifli, pointed out that the police are investigating the case under Section 9(5) of the Peaceful Assembly Act 2012, and during the two and a half hours of statement recording, they were asked 27 questions.

However, he stated that if the 10 students are charged, they would opt to answer related questions in court.

Earlier, the police confirmed that they would summon 13 university students who participated in the People's Anti-Corruption Rally for statements. Besides the 10 today, another 2 will give statements in Sabah, and 1 currently in Kedah will go to the Jinma Police District later for a statement.

Zulkifli questioned whether these students' voices are too challenging for the authorities to the point that they need intimidation and investigation to suppress them.

He reminded the Pakatan Harapan leaders not to forget the hardships they endured while being in opposition.

“Arrested, obstructed, and even imprisoned in the pursuit of justice. They marched, assembled, and shouted for reform! Now in power, what kind of tyranny do they wish to continue? The principles of justice once firmly upheld are now buried by political convenience?”

The organization also urged the government to prove through action that they still uphold civic principles and to stop any behavior that suppresses the voices of the people.

Headed by Zulkifli, the 10 summoned individuals arrived at the Jinma Police District headquarters at 1 PM today (2nd) to record their statements, while their supporters, waiting for them to leave the station, held banners and shouted slogans outside the police station.
